Coronavirus Update

27 March 2020

In line with Government advice, all of our staff are now working from home, with the exception of a handful of key workers who need to remain on-site. Those based on-site provide necessary Internal IT support, as well as undertaking critical equipment repairs and arranging shipment of essential equipment to those of our customers who are working in key frontline industries.  We are also able to accept deliveries to our Kidderminster site as usual however please note that additional safety precautions to protect our staff are in place so you will need to call our offices when you arrive in order to gain access to the site.

We would like to take the opportunity to reassure customers, and other third parties, that OGL is continuing to review and adapt to emerging government guidance, whilst at the same time maintaining “business as usual”.

OGL’s Business Continuity Plan is working well and whilst we are receiving an unprecedented number of calls from customers requiring support at the moment, our teams are working hard to ensure that we keep our customers’ businesses running as smoothly and securely as possible.

During this period of remote working, we are still able to offer full remote support to fix any IT issues, as well as online meetings with Account Managers to discuss any customer needs or concerns.

For businesses looking for additional IT or cyber security support, we are also able to offer remote consultations and software demonstrations to enable those businesses to work effectively during this challenging time.

We will continue to post our latest advice and policy information on this web page so please do check back from time to time. If your enquiry is more urgent, please contact us directly.

We would like to take the opportunity to reassure customers and other third parties that OGL is taking a protective approach towards our staff, customers and all visitors amid concerns over coronavirus. We are regularly reviewing government guidance, whilst at the same time taking a “business as usual” approach.

OGL has a regularly reviewed and tested Business Continuity Plan, with testing having been increased over the last few weeks, and strategic plans put in place.

We have:

  • ample capacity for staff to access internal networks remotely and to divert phones, so that we can continue to offer IT services to our customers
  • issued advice, based on government guidelines, to all staff to protect their health and safety, and that of their colleagues, customers, families and friends
  • stopped business travel to high-risk locations
  • technology in the form of Microsoft Teams, or other online tools, to enable online meetings or video conferencing
  • reviewed our approach to face-to-face meetings and business travel, and have a temporary policy to avoid unnecessary meetings if there is a foreseeable risk of exposure.

As the situation is evolving rapidly, we are continually reviewing our advice.  Please review our website or contact us directly to discuss any queries.
