Cyber Essentials vs Cyber Essentials Plus
The Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation offers businesses the opportunity to take their security to the next level and cannot be undertaken without first being Cyber Essentials certified.
This heightened level of protection involves an external certified body examining your cyber security. This may sound scary, but the whole process can be managed by a cyber managed service provider (CyberGuard) and businesses that fully prepare, often pass Cyber Essentials Plus first time.
The Cyber Essentials Plus certification is aimed at businesses who want to reassure and demonstrate to their customers that they have a higher level of commitment to security and can clearly evidence it.

Benefits of the Cyber Essentials Plus Certification
Evidence you take cyber security seriously
Highlighting the fact that you take security and data protection seriously couldn't be more important with cyber-attacks increasing and constantly in the news. Having a strong stance on cyber security is a much-needed virtue in today's modern business world.
Reassure your customers
A recent nationwide survey undertaken by CyberGuard Technologies found that 81% of businesses wanted to reassure their customers that they were taking a proactive approach to cyber security - this was the reason why they invested in this certification. It reassures your customers that auditors can evidence your cyber security.
To win new contracts, suppliers or tenders
If you're demonstrating that security and data protection is taken seriously within your organisation, then this puts your company in an advantageous position when bidding for new contracts. The same survey highlighted that 84% of businesses found that having this accreditation made it easier for them to win contracts, and in certain industries it’s even a compulsory requirement.
Peace of mind
Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation encompasses a far greater number of cyber assessments, thereby providing you with a better understanding of your own organisation's level of cyber risk. This offers your business peace of mind that you are demonstrating the highest cyber security standards internally.
IASME Approved
CyberGuard and IASME have worked together since CyberGuard was launched. We have a great relationship and understand how they work.
This relationship can help our customers secure their certification as, from April 2020, IASME was chosen by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to become the sole provider of Cyber Essentials within the UK.
