David Jubb Celebrates 10 Years at OGL
A huge congratulations to David Jubb who is the latest member of staff to join the Long Service Club having recently celebrated his 10th anniversary at OGL. David was presented with an Amazon eVoucher, bottle of champagne and engraved glass trophy from Neil Morris on behalf of all the Directors.
David looks back on the last 10 years:
"10 years! Wow, where did that go?! I started life at OGL as a temp in the Sales department, supporting the Technical Account Management team before managing to get an audience with Ashok Patel and somehow landing a permanent position as a Trainee Accountant.
"OGL is great at investing in people and giving them the opportunity to progress in the business, and I can certainly say that from first-hand experience. Over the years I’ve assumed team leader responsibility, been responsible for running the Finance department and more recently taken a new direction away from Finance as Head of Communications & Information Systems.
"I’m very proud of what I have achieved during my time at OGL. Completing my CIMA accountancy qualification was a real highlight for me personally. From a work perspective, I’ve learned not to be afraid to challenge the status quo and to put your ideas forward. We can all play a part and take responsibility for improving things and influencing positive change."
Ashok Patel, David's director, congratulates him on his 10 years at OGL:
“As David has mentioned, he first came to OGL as a temp in the Sales department and I happened to be meeting with Wayne one day when I spotted him sat at one of the desks. I wanted to find out more about him, so I arranged an impromptu chat and found out that he had done an Economics degree and was looking for work in a financial role.
“The first thing I noticed about David was his sheer enthusiasm and determination to be successful. Whilst he didn’t have any formal accountancy qualifications at that time, I saw something in him that I knew would make him a real asset at OGL, so I offered him a job in the Finance department.
“And that strong work ethic and desire to succeed has continued throughout the 10 years he has been here. Not only did he study alongside his work to achieve his CIMA qualification, but he has always ensured he learned as much as he could about the company, our products and services, and the industry we operate in. His ability to apply his financial skills across the wider operational and commercial areas of the business has led to him progressing from a trainee Accountant to Finance Manager, and then more recently into his new role as Head of Communications & Information Systems.
“David is a great example of what can be achieved with hard work and a clear focus on his personal goals, and he should be an inspiration to anyone who wants to progress their career at OGL. I have every confidence that he will continue to adapt his skills and experience to further progress his career at a senior level within the business and I look forward to seeing what he can achieve over the next 10 years.
“Congratulations David and thank you!”
