Opportunity Overview...

We're looking for a Field-Based Desktop Engineer to join our Managed Services team. You'll be delivering on-site support to our customers ensuring that SLA’s are met and the high level of customer service OGL is known for is always delivered. This means that the right candidate will have a passionate for building customer relationships and will be able to problem solve efficiently.

You'll have the opportunity to liaise with a wide variety of interesting customers and interact with a friendly team of Technical Engineers, who have a passion for all things IT, from trouble shooting problems to working with new technologies.

This field-based role will involve visiting our customers to ensure that their networks and infrastructure are maintained to industry standards, so a full driving licence will be required.

The right candidate will have outstanding customer and communication skills, a broad IT technical background and proven experience in a similar role. So, if you’re looking for a new challenge and personal development, get in touch to join the team at OGL.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Ability to investigate, diagnose and troubleshoot installation related issues
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and 365 products
  • Manage the provision and installation of the solutions delivered
  • Liaison and installation of 3rd party software

Skills & Experience...

  • Previous experience in both hardware and software support of Desktops, workstations, printers and other peripherals is preferable
  • Previous experience and knowledge of networking, Microsoft / Linux environments, VPN's, firewalls and connectivity solutions is required
  • Experience configuring and managing corporate anti-virus solutions and backup solutions
  • A can-do attitude and team player
  • Investigative skills and desire to problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Experience within a field support environment
  • Passion for emerging technologies and self-development
