Not ready to store your data in the cloud?

Data is exponential, it’s everything and everywhere. Essentially, it’s the lifeblood of your business. If you haven’t got access to emails, documents, presentations, customer and prospect databases, images, audio and video files and spreadsheets, how can you continue to operate as a business? A company is only as good as the data / information it has available.

However, you may not be ready to store your data in the cloud and may prefer to store your data more locally.

It’s about balance and what suits your business needs, so it’s important you have an IT partner you can trust to give you the right solution to your data storage needs.

Having seen a number of technological developments during our 40-year history, if storing your data on-site feels right for your business, we strongly recommend a Network Attached Storage (NAS) box.

What’s a NAS box?

A NAS box is basically a small, convenient storage server, consider these as a mini network of sorts. They are simply one or more regular hard disk drives connected to your network via an Ethernet port and you can then see them on your computer like any other hard drive.

The key advantages are that they are good for local backups for networks and smaller businesses as they can hold large amounts of data and can be set up easily and quickly.

Still undecided?

If you’re still not sure whether on-site or cloud storage is suitable for your business, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Lots of businesses ask the same question to try and decipher which storage solution is right for them. This is where you need an experienced IT partner that understands storage solution technology.

At OGL we have developed an enviable portfolio of data storage and sharing solutions to meet the needs of any business; whether you need a simple archive to store data in line with industry, financial or legal regulations or you require real-time replication of your data to provide business continuity in the event of a failure. We’ll listen to how your business is operating and understand the type of data you’re dealing with and recommend a solution to fit.

If you’re still undecided after discussing your options, it may even be that a mix of traditional on-site services alongside leading edge cloud technologies could be the best fit for you.
