A huge congratulations to Shin Lail who is the latest member of staff to join the Long Service Club having recently celebrated his 20th anniversary at OGL. Shin was presented with an Amazon eVoucher, engraved glass trophy and meal for two from Neil Morris on behalf of all the Directors.
Shin looks back on the last 20 years:
“I joined OGL at the beginning of this century – it seems soooo long ago now – as a network engineer, but moved into the Installations department soon after, which at the time had just three people in it. I have been in that department ever since, albeit with many more colleagues now. I am now a senior server engineer and although I have had a couple of dalliances with administration and managerial positions, I do feel my current role is where I am most happy.
“I have received much praise from customers during my time in the Installations (now Planned Services) department as I pride myself on carrying out installations to the highest standard and connecting with people on a personal level. The aspects of the job I enjoy the most are meeting new customers, as well as catching up with those whom I have dealt with previously. I also have a great passion for new technology which, luckily, I get to utilise regularly. I was once advised to put my personality into any job I carry out which I do and that, along with the great team I work with, is the reason why I love my job.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to all my wonderful colleagues who make this job what it is. Technology and computers allow us to achieve some amazing things, but they don’t compare to the camaraderie and friendship of good people.”
Lance Hogan, Shin’s manager, congratulates him on his 20 years at OGL:
“Shin has worked for OGL for a very long time and has built up some great relationships within the company. He has also made some great relationships with the customers by delivering high levels of service to them remotely and onsite.
“Shin is the only member of Planned Services that no matter what site he goes to, the customer will always have biscuits and a cup of tea waiting for him every time.”
