Internal Software Consultant

Quick Fire:

My last meal on earth: Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, including my nan's homemade trifle for dessert.

The album I’d take to a desert island: ABBA GOLD – Greatest Hits.

The movie I could have on repeat: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

On my bucket list: Volunteer for the IAR Orangutan project in Borneo or the Sloth conservation in Costa Rica, walk (part of) the Great Wall of China… I would love to say all but it's 1,800 miles!!! Visit Iceland and (hopefully) witness the Aurora Borealis, go to Vegas & take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, complete a charity Sky Dive for the Stroke Association.

At OGL, I’m responsible for…

Nurturing our future prospective customers, recording and maintaining data within our internal system and generating new business relationships by advising companies about our ERP system prof.ITplus.

The thing I’m most proud of in my job is.…

I have recently changed roles within the company and have stepped out of my comfort zone to learn a completely different set of skills. I am very proud of myself for taking a positive, although nerve racking, step forward in my career.

People may not know that in my role…

There is a large amount of background research and preparation that takes place before any contact is made to potential new business. This is to ensure the conversation is tailored to suit their particular needs and to make sure we keep up with industry trends.

Before OGL I…

I worked for TDI Supplies, selling Insulated Power Tools to Western Power Distribution. I really enjoyed this role as it was my first real taste of the sales environment and office life but sadly the company went into administration, so I was forced to move on. I then spent 4 years working for Forest Garden where I ran the Administration Department as the Senior Team Leader, managing a team of 12. After reaching my professional ceiling within this role, I decided to mix things up a bit and take on a new challenge, thankfully it led me to my career at OGL.

What I like most about working at OGL is…

The camaraderie in the office and the support given by management and colleagues, not only professionally but personally. Even when you are having a bad day, there isn’t a single member of the team who wouldn’t lend a helping hand or try to make you smile.

The best career advice I’ve been given…

To never fear failure and always strive to be the best version of yourself. Failure allows you to grow and enables you to become better, if you never try you will never succeed.

When I was growing up, I wanted to be…

Growing up I was very influenced by what I watched on the TV so naturally after watching Changing Rooms and CSI, I flitted between wanting to be an interior designer and a crime scene investigator.

Away from the office you’ll find me…

Taking long walks in the forest and desperately trying to train my naughty Cocker Spaniel puppy. You will then find me recovering from the whole ordeal at the pub with a nice glass of gin!
