What did you do before joining OGL?
14 years as School Business Manager / Office Manager at the largest Primary School in Worcestershire, with a brief dabble in the NHS between then and OGL.
How did you land your current role?
I think I saw a post online and was miserable commuting from Bewdley to Worcester and back each day - driving past the OGL building, with little to no knowledge of what was in store I went for it!
Tell us a bit about your role
I am officially the “Software Customer Co-ordinator“ which is a posh name for the Account Managers' Administrator. Now known as the Customer Success Managers (CSM). I support the team in all their administrative duties - emails, quotations, proposals, diary booking, data, calls and so much more. As a sales team we work closely together to support our existing customers to ensure they are thriving (and in return, so are we!).
What are you most proud of in your job?
I get a lot of job satisfaction from seeing a quote through from start to finish - eaves dropping on the CSM calls and hearing them sell the dream, preparing the quote for them, sending and receiving it back signed (celebrating!) and then arranging the installation with the various fabulous teams in Software. It makes me proud to know we've made a positive impact on a business.
What's the best thing you've learned during your time at OGL?
I've learnt a lot but it's hard to articulate. I knew nothing about Software before joining OGL so everything I now know is thanks to our wonderful team. I'm still learning today, there's always something to know or an acronym to figure out.
What do you like about working at OGL?
My lovely hard-working team, they are like family now, through the good and the bad we're in it together.
What's the best career advice you have been given?
“You get out, what you put in“ basically if you make the effort and work hard, it will be rewarded!
What do you get up to at the weekend?
I enjoy spending lots of time with my husband and our little cockapoo Lola - walks, mainly to the pub to enjoy a cob and a pint, but also in good weather to explore somewhere new. More recently my husband traded in the VW Camper for a touring Caravan so we've become partial to a long weekend away - little Lola monopolises our life now (and we wouldn't want it any other way. I think!).
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
An actress! I never quite knew but I always enjoyed being the centre of attention - surprising I know!
