OGL supports major redevelopment in Kidderminster

As one of the largest and long established employers in the Wyre Forest district, we are delighted with the news that Wyre Forest District Council has secured a massive £20.5m investment grant.

The grant will enable major transformational projects to be undertaken which will support the regeneration of the town and turn Kidderminster into a lively and modern hub where both businesses and local residents can thrive.

Neil Morris, Chairman of ReWyre, and Commercial Director at OGL Computer, commented: “we have been working towards this for some years and it’s so exciting to finally see a real opportunity to bring Kidderminster back to life.

“Wyre Forest has a diverse blend of businesses, from manufacturing and engineering to professional services, and whilst recent years have proved challenging, this investment will enable us to attract good, skilled people to the area who are looking for exciting careers in growing businesses but in an environment that promotes social and mental wellbeing.

“The development of a Digital and Creative Hub is also welcome news so we can develop the talents of young people who will hopefully then go on to work for businesses like ours. We’re recruiting now for a variety of roles as we have ambitious growth plans over the next few years so it’s great to know that our staff will benefit from the investment in the area where they work, and in most cases also live.

“We’ve often discussed the pros and cons of being based in Wyre Forest but we are close enough to the big cities like Birmingham for those looking for a night out, but far enough away that our staff can enjoy the benefits of a healthy, more suburban lifestyle. Something I think the pandemic has made us all appreciate much more!”
