Celebrating Mikayla Price's 10-year anniversary at OGL!

May 27, 2025

A huge congratulations to Mikayla Price who recently celebrated her 10-year Long Service milestone.

We caught up with Mikayla to find out more about her time at OGL so far:

"Having returned to the UK after a period of travelling, I was eager to focus on my career. I’d previously worked for a uniform manufacturer using Sage, so when I came across the 1st Line Support role at OGL, it immediately caught my attention. I applied on a whim, not really expecting to hear anything back. But before I knew it, I was invited for an interview - and then a second one with Sharon.

One vivid memory from that time was spending an afternoon with the programming team (now known as 2nd/3rd Line Support). I was in absolute awe of how intelligent they all were - I had no idea what they were talking about! So when I was offered the role, I was thrilled to begin my journey on the 1st Line Support team, diving into the world of prof.ITplus.

I learned so much during that time. The training and support I received were invaluable, and I was fortunate to be part of an incredible 1st Line team. We smashed it every day, working closely together to get the job done.

Later, I was promoted into the User Support team and had the chance to work alongside the OGL legend that is Debbie Hotchkiss. I owe Debbie a lot - her mentorship helped me grow in confidence and knowledge. Thanks to her guidance, Nominal Ledger became one of my strongest areas. I was also lucky enough to be supported by OGL in completing my AAT training, which I’m very grateful for. A big thank you also goes to Phil Hawkes for his endless patience and his knack for explaining how programs should (and sometimes shouldn’t!) behave.

Over time, I developed a real drive for resolving calls. That buzz of helping a customer never left me - I still get it today!

After several years in support, Sharon approached me with a new opportunity: to step into management and lead the prof.ITplus Customer Service team. It was a fantastic learning experience, and with Sharon’s mentorship, I began to apply my ERP knowledge in a new way - leading others. This later led to managing the Profit4 Support team, with the invaluable support of Carl, Andrew, and the Profit4 Development team. I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come since the early stages of Profit4. There were certainly some challenging times, but the team's unwavering positivity made all the difference. Thank you - you know who you are!

Eventually, Profit4 and prof.ITplus Support teams came together, and I began managing across both. Over the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with almost all of the support teams and even stepping into the world of prof.ITplus development. Managing across both products has been a rewarding experience and I’m grateful to Charlie for his guidance and support through it all - I’ve learned so much from him.

Now, with the new support structure taking shape, I’m excited to see what we can continue to achieve together. One thing that’s always stood out to me at OGL is the opportunity for growth, especially in a male-dominated industry. I feel proud and grateful to work alongside and look up to strong female leaders who continue to inspire me. I’ve also been fortunate to watch, and be a part of, the incredible journeys of my colleagues as they’ve progressed into new roles. OGL has shown me with hard work and dedication you will achieve all that you want to in your careers!

And of course, no reflection would be complete without a few funny memories! There are so many - from Alex Rose pulling out his eyelashes every day (still not sure why!), to him wheeling and dealing imported watches and phones and letting strangers into his house and poor Mick having to go round and check to see if his parents had been burgled. Then there was Ryan, mistaking the door alarm downstairs for a fire alarm and launching into full fire marshal mode - evacuating the whole of downstairs and even kicking open the ladies' toilet door to shout for everyone to get out! I’ll never forget standing in the car park while the top floor looked down at us, wondering what on earth was going on!

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this incredible journey over the past ten years - your support has meant everything. Here’s to the next 10 years!"

Mikayla's manager, Sharon Moreno, commented: "It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since I interviewed Mikayla for a 1st Line Support role. Even then, her love of holidays stood out - and I couldn’t believe how many she already had pre-booked, and how many she’s fitted in since then!

Mikayla started her career with OGL on 1st Line but quickly progressed to User Support, where she consistently delivered outstanding service. She’s always put the customer at the heart of everything she does, bringing a can-do attitude and a genuine drive to get things right. That approach has earned her a strong reputation with our customers and helped her build lasting relationships.

She thrived in hands-on support roles and was quickly recognised as someone with real potential. So when a team leader position came up, it was clear she was the right person for the job. Her years of experience, combined with deep knowledge of both our prof.ITplus and Profit4 applications, made her a natural fit.

Today, Mikayla has taken the next step in her career and moved into management. She remains laser-focused on delivering first-class service and supporting the people around her. She’s highly respected by her colleagues and her team, and she works incredibly hard to help others grow and succeed.

And let’s not forget her unexpected contributions to our marketing campaigns! Whenever we’re looking for volunteers, Mikayla’s name is always on the list - and true to form, she always steps forward, smile ready, and happy to get involved.

Mikayla, congratulations on your 10-year anniversary. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work alongside you and watch your journey. Here’s to many more milestones ahead."
