What did you do before joining OGL?
Ran my own marketing consultancy business for 4 years working with SMEs and non-profit organisations. I also delivered marketing workshops for start-up businesses.
Tell us a bit about your role
At OGL I'm responsible for all things marketing.
What might people not know about your role?
I get to buy the most random of items for campaigns and events ranging from golf balls, branded wrapping paper, air fresheners, tubes of toothpaste, tape measures, jelly beans as well as bottles of wine and chocolates.
What are you most proud of in your job?
The launch of Blogle (our staff intranet), my team, and growing Marketing's impact across the business and ensuring we deliver campaigns that result in high quality leads for the Sales team.
What do you like about working at OGL?
The people, the location (5 minutes from home), the variety of projects that I get involved in. I just love marketing.
What's the best career advice you have been given?
Never ask anyone to do something that you are not prepared to do yourself (made me very self-sufficient and has helped me gain the respect of others as they know I will muck in and help out with anything when needed).
What do you get up to at the weekend?
In the garden (if the sun is out), at the gym in a Spin class, or more recently on the golf course (just learning to play).
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
An accountant.
