Opportunity Overview

Are you a senior project manager who thrives on helping businesses digitally transform their operations and stay competitive through the successful implementation of ERP solutions, enjoys working with business leaders, and wants to own the implementations that matter most to our customers and to OGL Software? Then we want to hear from you…

We are building a new Strategic Team within our Software Delivery Division, focused on our enterprise customers. As Project Executive, you will lead the delivery of Profit4, our latest ERP product, to our largest and most complex customers, both enterprise businesses transitioning from our legacy product, prof.ITplus, and new enterprise customers. These projects typically involve multiple sites and companies, integrations, warehouse management and bespoke development, with significant commercial value.

You will be the senior delivery lead for each engagement from sales handover through to go-live and handover into support.  You’ll manage each project from start to finish, keeping everyone updated, overseeing the commercials, and lead and collaborate with a project team of Implementation Consultants, Data Migration Analysts, Developers and Support colleagues.

It is essential to us that we understand our customers' businesses, so regular on-site visits are part of this role. If you have the confidence to build strong relationships with customers, the commercial instinct to protect value, and the drive to deliver genuine business transformation, this is the perfect opportunity.

The role

The Project Executive leads OGL's most complex and commercially significant Profit4 implementations - enterprise prof.ITplus to Profit4 transitions and new business enterprise customers allocated to the Strategic Team.

Skills & experience

  • A proven track record of leading complex ERP or business software implementations from initiation to go-live and handover.
  • Experience managing enterprise customers with multiple sites / depots or companies, including WMS and third-party integrations.
  • Confident engaging at senior leadership level, both with customers and internally.
  • Strong commercial awareness, managing project scope, creep and forecasting variations against services purchased.
  • Experience stablishing and running project frameworks, controlling budget costs, milestone and timeline achievement and reporting.
  • Experience working with cross-functional delivery teams i.e. Implementation Consultants and Data Analysts and managing the priorities of shared resources.
  • Experience managing projects that include bespoke development or significant configuration.
  • The ability to handle complex escalations and difficult conversations calmly, protecting both the relationship and the project.
  • Self-motivation, drive, and a passion for technology and business transformation.
  • All applicants must hold a full driving licence valid for use in the UK (minor endorsements will be considered on an individual basis).

Desirable skills & experience

  • Experience of Profit4, prof.ITplus, or other ERP systems for stockist and distribution businesses or similar industries.
  • A strong understanding of distribution business processes, including purchasing, stock and warehouse management, sales, invoicing and finance.
  • Experience of integrations such as EDI, eCommerce and marketplaces, courier/shipping, and WMS.
  • Experience of legacy to new platform transitions.
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools e.g. Teamwork, Microsoft Co-Pilot, AI Tools and Atlassian Jira or similar.
  • A formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner is advantageous, but not essential).

Key responsibilities

Delivery leadership

  • Take end-to-end ownership of Strategic Team implementations, from sales handover through to go-live, and handover to our Support and Customer Success teams.
  • Plan and run complex projects, manage multiple workstreams, go lives and dependencies across integrations, data migration, training and development.
  • Take ownership of project delivery, making sure each implementation follows the strategic framework and is completed to the agreed timeline, budget, and quality standards.

Relationship management

  • Build trusted relationships with customers and your colleagues, including senior management and end users.
  • Manage customer third-party suppliers involved in integrations and infrastructure.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for strategic accounts, resolving issues promptly and putting clear strategies in place to achieve a positive outcome.

Commercial management

  • Own the project budget and services position, forecasting effort and tracking – “actual” vs. “planned”, identifying risk.
  • Work in collaboration with the Sales and Customer Success Teams identifying commercial opportunities during delivery.

Risk and development management

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate delivery, technical and commercial risks.
  • Manage development scope with the Development team, prioritising change requests against project goals.

Team improvement

  • Contribute to the implementation framework, and how we delivery our software to customers for maximum efficiency.
  • Keep up to date with new features in Profit4 releases and how they support our customers.
