Can you tell us about your job role
I’m a Project Leader in the Software Delivery Department. My role is to basically organise everyone, ensuring the smooth transition onto prof.ITplus. I make sure the Software Trainers are where they are supposed to be, the Data Analysts know what they are doing, and when they are doing it. I am also the first point of contact on a daily basis for our customers if they have any queries or questions.
What is your average day like
I know it’s a bit of a cliché, but to be honest there isn’t an average day as it is so varied. All of our customers have different ways in which they work. I can be organising training, going to a site for project review meetings, or even spending time on the phone. Our customers certainly keep me on my toes!
What’s the most common question you get asked?
I get asked various questions from customers. My colleagues ask me if I can keep my voice down!
What is your career background
I’ve come from a training background, being a trainer in my last two roles with Transport for London and BT. My experience lay within Soft Skills and IT end-user training. I have also gained a CIPD Level 3 Qualification for Designing Training Material. Before that I was very much involved with Customer Services. I do like talking!
What do you enjoy most about your job
I love talking to and organising our customers. I’m a firm believer that… why email? Just phone! I am sure that some of my customers, and colleagues, are sick of the sound of my voice!
How do you like to spend your time away from the office
I love playing Golf……but since I’ve had my two girls I’m not allowed to go very often anymore! As they are only 4 and 2, I think I actually spend most of the time entertaining them, by running after them pretending to be a monster of some sort, being climbed on or teaching them how to ride bikes! Apart from that we all enjoy trips out and spending time with friends and family.
