Dani Rapson celebrates 5 years at OGL Software
A huge congratulations to Dani Rapson who reached her 5 year Long Service milestone this week.
We caught up with Dani to find out more about her time at OGL so far…
“Where have those 5 years gone!
“I applied for the position of Administrator in the Technical Team back in June 2017 after reaching my professional ceiling at the previous company I worked for, Forest Garden.
I then went to work for Claire Jones in an administrator position in the Software department supporting new & existing business which is where I spent the first year of my OGL life supporting Matt Meredith and Carl Hillier with all their administrative needs & filling in for Stacey Reece to assist with new business proposals whilst she was on annual leave.
“I then applied for a Telesales appointment maker role, and that is where I have spent the last 4 years building relationships with prospects, breaking accounts, and showcasing our software offerings to potential new businesses. I will openly admit that this is the hardest job I have ever done and certainly has its highs and lows, but I have loved every minute of it, and it certainly helps having such a fantastic team to support you along with our amazing manager, Claire Jones.
“I have some great memories over the last 5 years including securing my first ever appointment which was celebrated by the team with party poppers and a mini bottle of Prosecco. Sam Griffiths’ 40th Birthday party where we all got caught in a snowstorm and had to walk to the Gainsborough in ball gowns, ski jackets and wellies. Participating in the OGL sponsored Sky Dive for Dementia UK with Sam Blaze, which is one of the best moments of my life, and most recently attending my very first event, The Autumn Fair show at the NEC as a scouting businesswoman, approaching the MD of a leisure wear company, exchanging details, and later securing a 1st appointment for James Shelley to discuss moving them away from Sage 50 & Zoho to Profit4. This is probably my proudest achievement to date, having never had a face-to-face discussion with a prospect before and going solo at the show… fingers crossed it progresses into a sale!

Dani’s manager, Claire Jones added:
“I can’t believe it’s 5 years already! I remember interviewing Dani back in 2017 for the role of Account Management Customer Co-ordinator and offering her the role straight away, given her administration experience, organisational and interpersonal skills and her drive to succeed. Dani was invaluable within the team, organising all of us and making sure all leads and opportunities were followed up and customers were well looked after; Dani played an instrumental part in ensuring we all achieved our targets.
“Her interest in sales then led to an opportunity within the new business sales team where she continues to capitalise on leads, hunting out opportunities from new prospects using a variety of tools and managing an enormous amount of data. Her ability to chat to business owners and IT managers who may be in the market for a new software system, and sometimes when they’re not, is a real skill; there can be a lot of rejection, but the wins are tremendous, and we all appreciate the efforts that go into this very difficult role.
“Dani is also very creative and brings some great ideas to the table and to our meetings with our marketing team, which is really encouraging and inspires us to look at different ways of attracting new customers. Thank you for your 5 years’ service Dani and being actively involved in the success of both our sales teams over this time!”
