Stacey Reece celebrates 20 years at OGL Software

20th Anniversary

A huge congratulations to Stacey Reece who has reached her 20-year Long Service milestone.

We caught up with Stacey to find out more about her time at OGL so far…

"I can’t quite believe it’s been 20 years - OGL was the first and only job I’ve ever had.  Which I kind of came across by accident when I was 17, after a year off pretty much living my best life down in London staying with my best friend's sister. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do but liked the idea of “working in an office” and so I applied for the Office Junior role at OGL which, after a nerve-wracking interview with Sam Byrne, I got accepted for.

I’ve always been in admin type roles but in pretty much every area of the business. I started out in Technical Sales, had a stint in Central Services assisting with the fleet management, Technical Helpdesk, HR and Accounts. I was pretty much sent where assistance was needed in the early days – or where a filing system needed sorting, or one needed to be implemented. My main roles have been in the Contracts Team / Accounts, Technical Sales admin and for the last almost ten years Software – System Sales. We have such a fantastic team now and I work with the best girls – it's never (well rarely) a chore to come to work.

My favourite aspect of working here is by far the people, which I know is what a lot of people say but it’s true. There hasn’t been a role or department I’ve worked in where I’ve not had great working relationships and I’ve made some lifelong friends along the way, some who still work here and some who don’t. I feel like it’s definitely an achievement to be within the same business for 20 years, and still really enjoy what you do – even if that is “just” being an administrator (which btw is a very underrated position! 😉)."

Stacey's manager, Claire Jones commented:

“I can’t believe it’s been 20 years! Since Stacey joined us from the technical sales team, some 10 years ago, it was clear that she was exactly what the team needed; calm under pressure, nothing was too much trouble, proposals and sales sheets could be churned out at a rate of knots and she made sure the team remained organised and focused on the accuracy and detail that sometimes salespeople (ahem) can overlook in the excitement of a deal!  Stacey is an absolute pleasure to have around, she is a team player and always conscious of the objectives in hitting target and following up potential customers.  Stacey will never complain when she is (frequently) asked at short notice to amend, re-do, or create a proposal, or process an order, and is the first to let us know and celebrate when those all-important signed sales and deposits come in. She has been incredibly helpful and knowledgeable for new people who join the team, myself included and is paramount in our reporting and analytics to help us achieve our best results.

Twenty years is an incredible milestone, and we sincerely congratulate you on being a beacon of support and continuity for everyone in the team (and putting up with us!); you are and have been pivotal in our success! Thank you so much Stacey, we couldn’t do it without you!!”

Kevin Crowe added: "Systems Sales has been blessed with some brilliant Sales Administrators – and when Stacey joined us 10 years ago, I know she was nervous about her ability to meet our expectations. She need not have worried, from day one she has been utterly amazing, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot even begin to estimate the number of times she has gone above and beyond for the team, working after hours to ensure we achieve our targets; she has been an absolute rock for me personally. Nothing has left OGL in the last 10 years with my name on that Stacey has not crafted for me.

Congratulations on 20 years’ service Stacey and thank you, you are a much-loved member of the team."
