Jo O'Shaughnessy celebrates 20 years at OGL Software

A huge congratulations to Jo O'Shaughnessy who reached her 20-year Long Service milestone recently.

We caught up with Jo to find out more about her time at OGL so far…

"20 years – where has that gone!

"I joined OGL after working 15 years in the travel industry after deciding I should get a ‘proper’ job!  I started as a call logger for prof.IT software, with absolutely zero knowledge of accounts or ERP systems at all. I love a challenge and anything to do with accounts scared the life out of me, so I decided to undertake AAT and now anyone who has worked with me will tell you accounts is my favourite thing – give me a VAT return to sort and I’m happy, sad I know! When Neptune, now prof.ITplus went live, I became the support advisor, eventually becoming a trainer and since progressing into testing.

"One of my memories from back in the day was having to photocopy and bind prof.IT manuals for the customers. This used to take hours for one manual per module! The photocopier was quite unpredictable and had to be babysat throughout the whole process – I’m glad to say updating online help is a whole lot easier now.

"My favourite aspect of OGL is the people. I’ve worked with some real characters over the years, and I’m extremely proud to have been one of Bruce Watson's ‘3 witches’ alongside Jo Baker and Lucy Mannion, he loved us really!"

Jo's manager, Sharon Moreno added:

"Jo has performed an array of roles over her 20 years with the company including administration, prof.ITplus support, testing and training.  I have very fond memories of Jo’s first steps into the world of support where we made the decision that she was going to become our Nominal expert, a challenge initially filled with trepidation but as predicted she became our Nominal Ledger Champion.

"Jo has played an integral role in supporting our customers and testing our products over the years and possesses the natural ability to flush out a defect or solve a problem.   Jo is our port of call in a storm when we have exhausted all avenues with an accounts query and 99.99% of the time, she is able to provide a solution.  Her experience and knowledge are invaluable to the business and I’m sure you would join me in thanking her for her contribution to the company’s success over the last 20 years."
