Can you tell us about your job role?

I have recently joined OGL as a Software Account Manager.  Currently my role is a mix of system training, self-study and shadowing the team out in the field with customers ensuring they are getting the best out of the system and reviewing where else OGL can support the growth of their business.

What is your average day like?

At the moment, my days are very varied. Training and self-study take up a lot of my time, so far I have gone through sales ledger, purchase ledger and most recently stock control, I am developing my own company in prof.ITplus which is helping put all of my training into context.

When out with customers I am shadowing the process of meetings and process reviews. I am understanding and learning more about the industry with each visit and I am absorbing a lot of the industry jargon and how different companies interact with each other along with the competitive side of the business. Every day is very much a learning day!

What is your career background?

My background is in operations management across different industries and sectors including Insurance, Banking, Water and Retail but the main bulk of my background is with Sage Software in Manchester looking after Accountants across the UK.

What is the most common question you get asked about prof.ITplus and how do you respond?

"How are you finding prof.ITplus?"

prof.ITplus is such a huge system that it will take time to fully understand. What I do know is that it is a fantastic system that truly works, increases efficiencies as well as the profits of companies across the UK. I have also learnt that each company uses the system differently to the next but the most valuable lesson I have learnt so far is not to change parameters unsupervised.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The varied challenges and questions day to day which the role brings. I love building relationships with customers and working together to identify a need within their business and providing the correct solution to ensure their business continues to grow and develop with OGL. No two days are the same.

How do you like to spend your time away from the office?

Away from work I really enjoy cooking, travelling and specialist gins.
