Sam Blaze celebrates 5 years at OGL Software

A huge congratulations to Sam Blaze who reached her 5 year Long Service milestone last week.

We caught up with Sam to find out more about her time at OGL so far…

"The last 5 years have gone by so quickly!! I re-joined to take over the Receptionist role from the much-loved Sam Fletcher. My role is a real mix, welcoming visitors, taking calls, room bookings, dealing with a variety of different enquiries and tasks. In addition, I assist the Executive Team and Marketing. I started my time with OGL in 2000 as Software Administrator, then later re-joined the Software Account Management Team and have worked with many wonderful people, some of which are still with OGL.

"One of my greatest memories was taking part in the OGL sponsored Sky Dive for Dementia UK with Dani Rapson. The event had to be rescheduled a few times due to the pandemic but eventually we did the jump which was an amazing achievement. 

"My favourite aspect must be all my colleagues. Everyone is so friendly and there is great atmosphere, a feeling of working together as a team and supporting each other."

Sam's manager, Emma Porter added:

"Our customers’ and visitors’ first experience of OGL often starts with the person who answers the phone and greets people at reception, and these first impressions reflect on the entire business. Sam has been our face of OGL for five years now (in this stint, as she is a returnee), with her friendly welcome, high standards and fantastic organisational skills.

"It was only last week when one of my first-time visitors complimented Sam on a wonderful, warm welcome when she had arrived early for a meeting and came into reception. She said how she was immediately put at ease and looked after, and it created such a good impression of the type of working environment everyone wants to be part of.

"Sam definitely has a varied role and is always willing to get involved, whether it is providing hospitality for visitors, supporting the Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team, working on marketing projects or helping with ad hoc HR tasks. Thank you for your five years of service so far Sam, and for being a great OGL Software ambassador."
