Staff raise over £300 for local charity Simply Limitless

2019 was a massive year of charity fundraising for us at OGL, and we're determined to carry that philanthropic spirit into the new decade.

Throughout 2020 we will be continuing to hold monthly dress down days to support various charities as nominated by staff. January's charity was Kidderminster-based Simply Limitless, as nominated by our Head of Operations (Software), Sharon Moreno.

Sharon chose Simply Limitless in support of one of our customers, NVC Lighting, whose Deputy General Manager, Ralph Pars, is closely associated with the charity.

Ralph got in contact with us and said: “Simply Limitless was formed in 2011 by a group of like-minded individuals motivated to help the vulnerable and needy. We are a health and well-being charity based in Kidderminster, operating out of a disused carpet factory which has - over time - been refurbished for our use. We have an organisational culture that values each person and are committed to enhancing their well-being, development and learning. We believe that the needs and wishes of the people who use our services are paramount, and deliver person-centred care to anyone living in the local area.

“Our services are holistic and targeted at the social, mental and physical facets of life. We provide a range of services, including family activity sessions that encourage family interaction and development, a full range of fitness activities working with small children as well as adults. We provide Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and parenting courses and are actively working to tackle loneliness and isolation in older people across the district. We are constantly seeking out new ways of communicating and delivering a quality service to our clients. With this in mind we see ourselves as innovators in health and well-being.  We work in partnership and collaboration with statutory organisations in the district and county as well as with voluntary sector partners.”

OGL staff ended up raising £302, a total which will go a long way in supporting the fantastic service that this charity provides for local people.
